Chapter 27

1 Jotham3147 was twenty6242 and five2568 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign,4427 and he reigned4427 sixteen8337 6240 years8141 in Jerusalem.3389 His mother's517 name8034 also was Jerushah,3388 the daughter1323 of Zadok.6659

2 And he did6213 that which was right3477 in the sight5869 of the LORD,3068 according to all3605 that his father25 Uzziah5818 did:6213 however, he entered935 not into413 the temple1964 of the LORD.3068 And the people5971 did yet5750 corruptly.7843

3 He built1129 the high5945 gate8179 of the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and on the wall2346 of Ophel6077 he built1129 much.7230

4 Moreover he built1129 cities5892 in the mountains2022 of Judah,3063 and in the forests2793 he built1129 castles1003 and towers.4026

5 He fought3898 also with the king4428 of the Ammonites,5984 and prevailed2388 against5921 them. And the children1121 of Ammon5983 gave5414 him the same1931 year8141 an hundred3967 talents3603 of silver,3701 and ten6235 thousand505 measures3734 of wheat,2406 and ten6235 thousand505 of barley.8184 So2063 much1931 did the children1121 of Ammon5983 pay7725 to him, both the second8145 year,8141 and the third.7992

6 So Jotham3147 became2388 mighty,2388 because3588 he prepared3559 his ways1870 before6440 the LORD3068 his God.430

7 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jotham,3147 and all3605 his wars,4421 and his ways,1870 see,2005 they are written3789 in the book5612 of the kings4428 of Israel3478 and Judah.3063

8 He was five2568 and twenty6242 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign,4427 and reigned4427 sixteen8337 6240 years8141 in Jerusalem.3389

9 And Jotham3147 slept7901 with his fathers,1 and they buried6912 him in the city5892 of David:1732 and Ahaz271 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

1 Иофам взошел на престол в возрасте двадцати пяти лет и правил в Иерусалиме шестнадцать лет. Мать его Еруша была дочерью Цадока.

2 Иофам делал то, что в глазах ГОСПОДА было праведно. Поступал он так же, как и отец его Озия, только в Храм ГОСПОДЕНЬ не входил. Но народ продолжал грешить.

3 Иофам отстроил Верхние ворота Храма ГОСПОДНЕГО и воздвиг множество построек у городской стены вдоль холмов Офела.

4 Он отстраивал города в горах Иудеи, среди лесов воздвигал крепости с башнями.

5 Он вел войну с царем аммонитян и победил их. Аммонитяне выплатили ему в тот год сто талантов серебра, десять тысяч мер пшеницы и десять тысяч мер ячменя. И на следующий год, и на третий аммонитяне выплатили ему столько же.

6 Иофам достиг такого могущества потому, что твердо держался пути ГОСПОДА, Бога своего.

7 Остальные события правления Иофама, все его войны и деяния описаны в Книге царей Израиля и Иудеи.

8 Иофам взошел на престол в возрасте двадцати пяти лет и шестнадцать лет правил в Иерусалиме.

9 Иофам отошел к праотцам своим и был похоронен в Городе Давидовом. И царем после него стал его сын Ахаз.
